Principal BI Developer / Architect

Department: Development

Responsibilities:

• Serves as Technical Lead as well as provide hands-on design, development, and implementation support for the project team.
• Responsible for the architecture of the BI environment, its design, performance, availability, and success, including ETL, data warehouse, data marts, and end user applications for reporting and analytics.
• Participate in reviews of all project efforts and ensure completeness of the architectural approach and documentation.
• Ensure that business requirements can be satisfied by the most efficient and effective architectural solutions.
• Responsible for the definition of both a short-term BI roadmap and long-term BI strategy.
• Responsible for designing analytic solutions.
• Partner with the project manager to define deliverables, work breakdown, level of effort estimates and delivery timeframes for all BI projects.

Required:

• 7 - 10+ years of intensive experience in the analysis, design, implementation and support of complex BI solutions.
• Strong knowledge of relational and dimensional modeling.
• Proficiency with Visual Studio 2008/2010.
• Expert level experience with SQL/T-SQL required (SQL Server 2005+).
• Significant implementation experience with MS SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and ETL design.
• Experience in development with MS SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and creating Report Models.

Desired:

• Hands-on or equivalent experience performing dimensional modeling with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
• Experience with relevant BI features of SharePoint and other Microsoft tools.
• Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) or MCTS Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS).
